Week 8 Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Training Curriculum

This week at Gracie Barra Rancho Santa Margarita Jiu-Jitsu we are continually working the basics in the fundamentals class. In the self defense portion of the class we are drilling a headlock and body lock take down avoid the classic jab punches.

As we move onto the sport jiu-jitsu segment of the we are showing transitions to the mount from side control. We show how to maintain control and progress. In addition, we are sharing two great submissions, the paper cutter, sometimes referred to as bread cutter and the armbar from mount.

In the advanced classes our professors share their insight into judo foot throws. How to set them up and how to finish. They also are sharing tricks from side control to help you get your next submission.

Our Gracie Barra Kids are also working on the foot throws and side control. Come watch your child progress this week. The word of the week is Enjoyment. And, we all enjoy training at Gracie Barra RSM Jiu-Jitsu.

See you on the mats!
