Every week at Gracie Barra we have a focus that carries through all our classes from Fundamentals to Advance across kids and adults. This week at Gracie Barra Rancho Santa Margarita we are working the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Guard.
In the Fundamentals class our first move is always self defense. This week we share an escape from sidemount with punches, how to recover the guard and then evade your opponent with a technical lift. We also demonstrate how to escape from mount with a strong bridge and how to gain a good posture in a closed guard. When we move on to the sport Jiu-Jitsu in our classes we train how to pull guard and scissor sweep from the closed guard. In addition we share two choke submissions from guard to finish your opponent. As you grow in the Gracie Barra curriculum you can take our advanced classes.
In the advance classes this week we work some more advanced ways to pull guard. Our professors will also share some great sacrifice throws to improve your game. On the bottom, we train advanced sweeps and get our extra rolls in to hone our skills.
In our Gracie Barra Kids programs we continue with our training from the jiu-jitsu guard. We start each class with self defense and stand up techniques and when we move to sport jiu-jitsu our professors share their favorite sweeps and submissions from the guard.
Make sure you drop in today and continue to develop your game. For new students now is a great time to begin your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Journey. Sign up now for a free class or call us for more information. (949) 205-5053
